My career as a serious salesperson...

Last October was the turn of my second year with DAXKO. Many of you know that it has been a very challenging change for me to move from fund raising to sales; building and nurturing relationships is critical to both but after that it gets very different. Plus I have not had the best experience in the "corporate" world. Whether it is because I worked in non-profits for so long or if my expectations of people are too high or if I am just missing something about how companies treat people; I continue to struggle with the model. Working remotely has its pros and cons and I feel good about it most days. Working with my sales teammates is weird because I am not on site but I think we are getting better at working as a team too...2009 will tell. Last week I was in Birmingham at the corporate office for our annual kick off event and I had the pleasure of "playing" with many of my colleagues and this helped assure me that I work with great people...that is really important to me. 2009 will be the test to see if I can be successful at meeting my quota while getting what I need as a professional...time will tell. The Kickoff event includes some really fun events and I thought I would share some pix of some of my colleagues so you can get a feel for how crazy DAXKO can be...
