Top 10 Reasons I Love the "Off-Season"

It is my favorite time of year again...crisp days, cooler nights and beautiful trails. I decided to share my top 10 favorite things about being "off-season" from triathlons!
  1. Sleeping in until 6 or 7 AM on weekends!
  2. Spending time with my "non-tri" friends!
  3. LSDs baby! Both workouts and breakfast!
  4. Over training on long trail runs!
  5. Back to drills in the pool to finally find the perfect stroke!
  6. Winter adventures on snow shoes and skis!
  7. The smell of chlorine in every pore replacing the scent of the pond!
  8. Getting caught up on my magazine and book reading!
  9. Staying up past 10 PM relaxing by the fireplace with red wine and movies
  10. Planning for all the fun we are going to have in 2009!

This past week was something really special for me; my friend Noell received great news, my father's health and happiness seem to be improving, Steve and Andrea received a well-deserved recognition, I officially qualified for Team USA 09, John and I continue to grow closer and I closed another big deal at work. It seems that many of the areas in my life that I have been trying to be better at have begun to show that my efforts are worthwhile. Patience is far from a virtue I possess so it feels good when things start to show results...no matter how long it takes!

I am excited to share our winter adventures with my friends and family. My goal is to have too much fun, see more of this beautiful country, see my friends and family and not get hurt! Oh...and swim faster!

I can't wait to get started...off to my bike rollers!

No matter what you do you succeed! I admire you for that! I wish I could come to Australia and watch you kick ass! Maybe I will start buying lottery tickets... Here's to looking forward!
